Feeling stuck, anxious or not quite yourself?

Warm, integrative counselling in Chapel Allerton, Leeds, and online.

A calm space to grow

Counselling gives you time and space to make sense of what's going on, without judgement. Together we'll work out what's keeping you stuck, and what would help you feel more like yourself again. I offer sessions in person in Chapel Allerton and online, during the day and in the evenings.

Hannah Ellery, counsellor, in her therapy room

I'm Hannah.

I've been a counsellor for ten years, and before that I spent eight years teaching in secondary schools, so I know how easily stress and self-doubt can build up when life is busy. My work is warm, down to earth and collaborative. You won't be analysed from a distance: we'll work it out together.

Training & Accreditation

Postgraduate Diploma in Integrative Counselling and a Certificate in Compassion Focused Therapy, with 10 years in practice. Accredited Registrant of the National Counselling & Psychotherapy Society (MNCS Accred).

My Approach

I work integratively: person-centred at heart, drawing on CBT and Compassion Focused Therapy when they help. That means the way we work is shaped around you, not a fixed method.

Warm & Unhurried

We go at your pace. There's no pressure to have the right words, or to know exactly what's wrong before you start.

Practical When Needed

Alongside talking things through, I can share simple tools for anxiety and low mood that you can use between sessions.

Tailored to You

Some people want space to talk, others want structure. We'll find what works for you, and review it together as we go.

Who I Help

I work with adults (18+).

Anxiety &
Overthinking

Worry that won't switch off, panic, social anxiety, and the constant feeling that something is about to go wrong.

Low Mood &
Self-Esteem

Feeling flat, low or not good enough, and finding it hard to enjoy the things you used to.

Relationships &
Life Changes

Relationship difficulties, and big changes like a new job, parenthood, moving, separation or retirement.

Burnout &
Grief

Work stress and exhaustion, and support through grief and loss, whenever it happened.

What to Expect

Starting counselling can feel like a big step. Here's how it works.

1. A free 15-minute call

A relaxed chat on the phone. Ask any questions, tell me a little about what's going on, and see how it feels to talk to me. No commitment.

2. Your first session

We'll talk about what's brought you to counselling and what you'd like to be different. You can share as much or as little as you like.

3. Working together

We'll usually meet weekly, at your pace, and check in regularly on how it's going, so you always know it's helping.
