A calm space to grow

Hi, I'm Hannah.

I've been a counsellor for ten years, and before that I spent eight years teaching in secondary schools, so I know how easily stress and self-doubt can build up when life is busy.

Counselling gives you time and space to make sense of what's going on, without judgement. My work is warm, down to earth and collaborative. You won't be analysed from a distance: we'll work out together what's keeping you stuck, and what would help you feel more like yourself again.

How I Can Help

I work with adults (18+) on all kinds of things, big and small. Here are some of the most common reasons people get in touch.

What to Expect

Starting counselling can feel like a big step. Here's how it works, one step at a time.

Step one

A free 15-minute call

A relaxed chance to ask questions and see how it feels to talk to me. There's no pressure to have the right words, and no obligation to book.

We might talk about:

  • What's brought you here
  • In person or online
  • Days and times
  • Any questions you have

Step two

Your first session

We'll talk about what's brought you here and what you'd like to change. I'll explain how confidentiality works, and we'll agree how we'll work together.

Good to know:

  • 50 minutes
  • Go at your own pace
  • No need to prepare

Step three

Working together

Weekly sessions at your pace, reviewed regularly so you know it's helping. My approach is integrative: person-centred at heart, drawing on CBT and Compassion Focused Therapy when they help.

My approach is:

  • Warm and unhurried
  • Practical when you need it
  • Tailored to you

Questions You Might Have

If there's anything else you'd like to know, just ask on our free call.

National Counselling & Psychotherapy Society
Do you offer online or in-person sessions?

Both. In person in Chapel Allerton, Leeds, or online by video.

How much does it cost?

£60 for 50 minutes. A few £40 concession places are available.

How many sessions will I need?

It varies. Some people come for six sessions, others for longer. We'll review together regularly.

Is it confidential?

Yes. I follow the NCPS code of ethics. I discuss my work anonymously with my supervisor, and the only exception is a serious risk of harm, which I'll explain at our first session.

When are you available?

Monday to Thursday 9am to 8pm, and Friday mornings.

"You don't need to have it all figured out before you start. That's what we're here for."
