Feeling stuck, anxious or not quite yourself?

Warm, integrative counselling in Chapel Allerton, Leeds, and online.

A calm space to grow.

Counselling gives you time and space to make sense of what's going on, without judgement. Together we'll work out what's keeping you stuck, and what would help you feel more like yourself again. I offer sessions in person in Chapel Allerton and online, in comfortable and confidential surroundings.

Hannah Ellery, counsellor, in her therapy room

Welcome!

Hi, I'm Hannah. I've been a counsellor for ten years, and before that I spent eight years teaching in secondary schools, so I know how easily stress and self-doubt can build up when life is busy. My work is warm, down to earth and collaborative. You won't be analysed from a distance: we'll work it out together.

My Approach

I work integratively: person-centred at heart, drawing on CBT and Compassion Focused Therapy when they help. That means the way we work is shaped around you, not a fixed method.

Warm & Unhurried

We go at your pace. There's no pressure to have the right words, or to know exactly what's wrong before you start.

Practical When You Need It

Alongside talking things through, I can share simple tools for anxiety and low mood that you can use between sessions.

Tailored to You

Some people want space to talk, others want structure. We'll find what works for you, and review it together as we go.

Who I Help

I work with adults (18+), including with:

  • Anxiety & overthinking
  • Low mood
  • Burnout & work stress
  • Relationship difficulties
  • Self-esteem
  • Life changes
  • Grief & loss

Life changes can be anything from a new job or parenthood to moving, separation or retirement.

What to Expect

Starting counselling can feel like a big step. Here's how it works.

1. A free 15-minute call

A relaxed chat on the phone. Ask any questions, tell me a little about what's going on, and see how it feels to talk to me. No commitment.

2. Your first session

We'll talk about what's brought you to counselling and what you'd like to be different. You can share as much or as little as you like.

3. Working together

We'll usually meet weekly, at your pace. We'll check in regularly on how it's going, so you always know it's helping.
